A little bit about
Susan:
Susan was raised in the bush
landscape of Eastern Australia where she was
inspired from an early age by the natural environment
and abundant bird life around her. Being the
second oldest of a family of 10 meant hard work
replaced an expensive education. Pursuing her
love of painting was something considered "impractical"
and was therefore done strictly in her spare
time. Susan's passion for creative expression
drove her to continue her practice, which she
has maintained from the age of 15 to this present
day.
Largely self-taught, Susan was
attracted to the vibrant and expressive works
of artists such as Monet and VanGogh. She loves
the wild use of color and freedom in form that
she believes translates a sense of freedom and
provides an experience of escapism. Susan's
main goal is to convey happiness to the viewer
through colorful and desirable imaginings in
her artwork. Rather than perfection in replication
she aims for the successful communication of
memorable feelings and emotions.
